Local Legend Steamboat Willie to Perform at ICPA’s POLYCON

February 4, 2004 (Arlington, Va.) — New Orleans’ local Steamboat Willy will perform with his five-piece jazz band at the Flavors of New Orleans Reception, part of the International Cast Polymer Alliance’s POLYCON 2004, Friday, February 20, from 4-6 p.m. The performance, sponsored by Crompton Corporation, will showcase the jazz that put New Orleans on the musical map.

Steamboat describes his music as the stuff that keeps old New Orleans-style jazz alive. A regular performer at the Marriott Hotel for six years who tours Europe every summer, his jazz has been heard everywhere from Bourbon Street’s bars to Australia to riverboats in Prague. The accomplished members of his band include several Grammy-winning musicians who have collaborated with jazz’s largest legends, including famed trumpeter Al Hirt.

POLYCON 2004, held February 19-21, 2004, in New Orleans, La., is the largest convention and trade show for the cast polymer industry. More than 800 industry professionals will converge in New Orleans to network, attend educational sessions, and visit with more than 70 exhibitors! To register for POLYCON 2004, visit the ICPA Web site at www.icpa-hq.org or contact ICPA Headquarters at 703.525.0320.
